Great Landscapes Week!

Help us celebrate Great Landscapes Week!

Dear Parish Council Clerk

In September, Friends of the Lake District is launching its first Great Landscapes Week, a festival celebrating our wonderful landscapes. Please find below links to posters relating to the events (2nd to 9th September). It would be great if you could help us to publicize these by either forwarding this email or putting up posters if appropriate.

Great Landscapes offer endless opportunities for physical, spiritual and mental well-being. They have been the inspiration for artists, poets and adventurers down the centuries. They also offer up to us the fundamental stuff of life: water, oxygen, fuel, soil to grow food and a place to live for humans, wildlife and nature.

But they are under threat and, in our busy lives, we can take for granted the true beauty and importance of what is above, below and all around us.

From Saturday 2nd to Saturday 9th September 2017 Friends of the Lake District are inviting people to step into our great Cumbrian landscapes; to immerse themselves and to share thoughts, ideas, comments about why landscapes are important to them. Each week day relates to one of the senses.
